MCP server: Claude and other assistants
How to connect Claude Desktop, Claude Code or another MCP client to your Rivo: finance and network with an API token.
The Rivo MCP server gives Claude Desktop, Claude Code or any MCP client access to your dashboard: "show my balances", "add an internet expense of 800", "find leads with status call".
What you need
- An API token — Settings → Access → API tokens, preset "Finance MCP" (finance) or "Network MCP" (contacts and leads). How to issue one — API tokens and OpenAPI.
- The MCP server — a small Node.js program that runs on your computer and talks to Rivo over the API. It isn't part of the install kit: ask for it at [email protected], then run
npm installonce in its folder.
Connecting
Environment variables:
RIVO_API_URL— your Rivo address, e.g.https://name.me.rivo.day;RIVO_TOKEN— theocd_…API token.
Claude Code:
claude mcp add rivo-fin --scope user -e RIVO_API_URL=https://name.me.rivo.day -e RIVO_TOKEN=ocd_… -- node /path/to/mcp/server.mjs
Claude Desktop — the same launch (node /path/to/mcp/server.mjs with the two variables) in the mcpServers section of claude_desktop_config.json; restart Claude after editing.
Finance (fin_*)
Needs the fin:read and fin:write scopes (the "Finance MCP" preset).
- accounts, categories, summary, forecast, envelopes and their schedule;
- transactions: expense or income, transfer, exchange, void, balance reconciliation;
- obligations: list, add, change, close;
- payment plan: settle or skip a payment, run the generator;
- parsing a phrase about money into the ledger ("paid the kindergarten 300 lari").
Accounts and categories can be referred to by name. Repeating a call doesn't create a duplicate; two identical expenses on one day are sent with different keys. Migrations, bank sync and editing reference lists are closed to the token.
Network (net_*)
Needs the crm scope (the "Network MCP" preset).
- searching leads with filters and counters;
- a lead's full card;
- changing the funnel status (new, written, replied, call, deal, no), adding a note, tags.
Deleting leads and editing dossiers through MCP isn't possible.
Other tools
Documents, tasks, calendar and the assistant are available to MCP tools if the token has the docs, tasks, calendar, assistant scopes. Without the needed scope a tool answers that the token lacks a scope — issue a token with it.
